The new website’s up and running.  A few works-in-progress aside, things seem to be working pretty well.  Once the last kinks are worked out, I’ll have some interesting updates to post.  Things are afoot in the land of Constantine.

My story MONSOON DEVIL will be appearing in the upcoming anthology Midnight Walk, a collection of horror stories edited by Bram Stoker Award winner Lisa Morton.  The release date is slated for June 14th.  There will be a group signing at Dark Delicacies in Burbank which will feature the contributing authors of the anthology, including me.  The signing will also be on June 14th, beginning at 2:00 PM.  Keep an eye on the Dark Delicacies website for more information.  Hope to see you all there.

Far Cry 2 has been nominated for Game Developers Choice Awards in the categories of Best Writing and Best Design. Winners will be announced at this year’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Pandemic StudiosThe last few months I’ve been working on a new game being developed at Pandemic Studios called Saboteur. I’ve been writing AI dialog and mission scripts for the game, and I have to say it’s been a terrifically fun title to be involved with. Even better, the team is one of most fun bunch of folks I’ve worked with for a long, long time. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Saboteur, you can glean some exciting tidbits from the following:

Gamespot’s coverage

IGN has also named Saboteur as one of its Most Anticipated Games of 2008.

For those who haven’t seen it by now, there’s a teaser trailer available for Ubisoft Montreal’s Far Cry 2. Check it out.

Last week was the Austin Game Developers Conference, the new incarnation of the Game Writers Conference. The mere thought of visiting Austin is enough to get me salivating, but the conference ended up being even more fun than anticipated.

Among other things, I moderated a panel on writing game sequels. Panelists Micah Wright, Steve Jaros and Tom Abernathy had a lot of great insights about game writing in general and about the specifics of writing for that increasingly common creature, the game sequel. The lesson I learned was, if you’re going to moderate a panel, be sure and get panelists who are smart, funny and know what the hell they’re talking about. And then get the hell out of their way. The GDC folks have made an audio recording available for a fee.

Some other highlights:

*  Pat Redding’s talk on story flow

*  Sipping incredibly rare scotch with Richard Dansky

*  Devouring unparalleled Texas barbecue with old friends and new

*  Participating in the Shitty Beer Taste Test, Part II (Part I having occurred during last year’s conference)

*  Staying in the stately (read: haunted) Driskill Hotel
